CLUB SOC: Nurturing the Passion for Coding

IPS Academy School of Computers has established a Club with a mission to foster the interest of Students in Coding. The Club was founded by two talented students, Aaditya Pathak and Aaditya Surana,  from IMCA with a vision to create a community where students can come together to learn, grow and develop their coding skills. The Club, named Club SOC (School of Computer), is specifically designed for students who are new to coding or are looking to improve their existing coding skills. The club provides an ideal platform for students to ask questions, solve doubts, and interact with peers who share their interests.

The Club’s Success is largely due to the support and guidance of HOD Manish Pundlik  and Professor Kavita Choudhary. Their dedication and commitment to the club’s mission has helped create an environment where students can flourish and achieve their goals.

Club SOC offers various activities such as Coding workshops, Guest Lectures, and Coding Competitions to keep students engaged and motivated. These activities provide students with hands-on experience, allowing them to put into practice what they have learned. In addition, the Club also provides opportunities for students to collaborate on projects and participate in Hackathons, providing a space where they can showcase their coding abilities and learn from one another.

With the addition of Rishabh Chawda from IMCA, Club SOC continues to thrive. Rishabh, a brilliant student in his class, was encouraged by Aaditya Pathak to lead online doubt-solving sessions for the club’s members. Under Rishabh’s leadership, these sessions have become a key part of the club’s activities. Rishabh conducts daily one-hour Zoom meetings where he helps students overcome their coding challenges and answer any questions they may have. These sessions have proven to be highly popular, attracting an average of 70 students daily who are eager to learn and improve their coding skills. The addition of Rishabh’s expertise and leadership has allowed Club SOC to reach new heights, providing students with even greater opportunities to learn and grow. With his guidance and the support of the club’s founders, Club SOC continues to be a valuable resource for students who are passionate about coding.

Club SOC is known for its innovative and engaging activities that challenge students to develop their skills. One of the club’s key initiatives is its weekly Saturday challenges, which focus on developing students’ coding and presentation skills. These challenges provide students with an opportunity to showcase their abilities and receive constructive feedback from their peers. By participating in these challenges, students can see their progress over time and gain confidence in their coding skills.

In addition to these weekly challenges, Club SOC also hosts an annual event called Avriti (SOC Social Fest). This event features a flagship coding competition called Code Master, which attracts the best and brightest coders from the SOC department.

At Code Master, students put their skills to the test and compete against one another to see who can produce the best code. The competition is a great opportunity for students to show off their abilities, network with their peers, and gain recognition for their work.

In the latest Code Master competition, 50 to 60 students had participated and Kapil Mukati from IMCA emerged as the Winner, demonstrating his exceptional coding skills and solidifying his place as one of the top coders in the club. Kapil’s success is a testament to the power of the Club SOC community and its ability to foster the development of students’ coding skills. Along with Kapil, Nitesh Patidar and Kaushal Sharma from MCA also secure 2nd and 3rd position

Club SOC would like to extend dedicated team members who helped in running coding club. The team consists of Chandrashekhar Arya, Kapil Mukati and Chetan Ghelot from IMCA. Their tireless efforts and invaluable contributions have made this club a great success.

In Conclusion, Club SOC is a vibrant and dynamic community that is helping to shape the next generation of coders. With its focus on helping students develop their skills and reach their potential, the club is making a significant impact on the lives of its members.
